Campus Support

The Cruden-Riggs Scholarship was established to support LGBTQ+ and aspiring ally students in their academic & personal endeavors. This award varies in size each year. Applications launch in Spring for awards to be disbursed the following academic year. 

Requirements: 

  • Applicants must be a UMD student and have completed at least one semester
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Exemplifies notable contributions to bettering the lived experiences of queer & trans+ people

 

The Office of Diversity & Inclusion also supports students in accessing a variety of emergency and one-time grants through UMD. These funds can be used for tuition, textbooks, rent, groceries, and other essential needs. For more information about these emergency funds, contact [email protected] 

External Support 

PFund Foundation provides scholarships and grants to learners from the Upper Midwest at all stages of their education. 

Point Foundation offers scholarships for LGBTQ+ and ally students attending accredited colleges and universities in the U.S. Point scholarships support community college, undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students.
